Alhamdullilah this year for the first time, young Muslim sisters and brothers from the Islamic Center of Boca Raton (ICBR) Community will be participating in the Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament which will be held in Gainesville, Florida the weekend of March 31-April 2, 2017. The ICBR team includes high school students from Garden of the Sahaba Academy (GSA) and other local public high schools.
M.I.S.T is a tournament for all high school students. It consists of competitions ranging from Quran, Islamic Studies, writing, speech, debate, art, poetry, mathematics and basketball. The competitions are based on a different theme each year; this year the theme is “The Challenge of Beauty: Striving for Perfection in an Imperfect World.” It is an opportunity for Muslim high school students from all around Florida to meet and network.
The tournament is an amazing platform for our communities’ youth to showcase their talents and delve into their competitive spirit, while having fun. Our youth are competing in 9 disciplines.
